Going Back

It just so happened. I was working on a blue + red color study and it just came to me. The Salamander was never complete... His form strongly suggests a circle, and so I couldn't resist and glued one to another. This may be a beginning of a new way of illustration for me. 

By the way this is a continuation of my work for a passed illustration competition for the cover of Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. Too bad it's over and done, I would love to submit this piece instead.

A few months back I worked on illustration for a competition for Ray Bradbury's book. It was a lot of fun, and a good experience for me. I hope to come across more competitions like this in the near future.

Illustration Contest: Fahrenheit 451 Cover

I just finished and submitted my illustration. The lizard seemed to have taken a life of its own because it turned out to be something completely different than what I wanted, but overall I'm satisfied.

I just wanted to share my second favorite. Though it didn't make the cut.

The winner will be announced sometime soon, I'm anxious to find out who's work will win, there are a lot of good ones. I'll be making a post with the winning illustration as well, probably in the coming month.

Illustration Contest: Fahrenheit 451 Cover

Currently I'm working on a submission for illustration contest (slowly but surely). Ray Bradbury is one of my favorite writers, and it is a great pleasure and fun designing a cover for one of his best-known books. I will post the final when I'm done towards the end of this month.
